Discoverability
Lightning AI offers organizations the ability to maximize discoverability to oversee AI projects, helping to prevent repetitive efforts and enhance efficiency.

There are numerous benefits to increasing discoverability. This guide starts by describing the methods to do this and ends with the benefits.
Public Studios
Organizations have the ability to share and publish Studios that can be seen across the organization. This is a great way to share templates across the organization.
Publish to the organization
Publish Studios that are only visible internally. Organization members are able to find and duplicate these Studios to start from a template. To publish a Studio to the organization, from your Studio, click the "Publish" button, select your organization in "Studio visibility", enter the rest of your metadata, populate your "About" page and click the final "Publish" button.
Publish Studios to a private organization.
Publish to the public
Publish Studios that are visible to everyone on the internet. Use these Studios to provide services or open source components that others can build on. To publish a Studio to the public gallery, from your Studio, click the "Publish" button, select your "Lightning Community" in "Studio visibility", enter the rest of your metadata, populate your "About" page and click the final "Publish" button.
Publish public Studios, available to all.
Public teamspaces
Collaboration within an organization is centered around the teamspace. Create multiple teamspaces for different use cases, teams and cross-functional efforts.
What is a teamspace?
A teamspace is a collaborative space that combines Studios, data, and personnel focused on achieving a unified objective. It is designed to streamline workflows and foster team collaboration.

Browse teamspaces
To see all the teamspaces within your organization, navigate to the 'Teamspaces' tab located at the top of the home page. This feature allows you to explore various projects and facilitate cross-team collaborations.

Add teamspace metadata
Enhance your teamspace's visibility and organizational transparency by updating its metadata. Click on 'Teamspace settings' and enter relevant details that describe your teamspace's goals, data, and team members involved.
Make teamspaces discoverable with relevant metadata.
This step ensures that everyone in the organization understands the purpose and contributions of your teamspace, promoting more efficient resource use and reducing work duplication.
Importance of discoverability
In the fast-paced world of AI development, ensuring project discoverability within an organization is paramount. This is especially true in AI, where duplicate efforts not only lead to a waste of valuable resources but can significantly inflate costs and delay time-to-market for new products.

Avoid duplicate efforts
Discoverability through teamspaces allows team members across the organization to easily find and understand ongoing projects. This visibility minimizes the risk of overlapping initiatives by showcasing existing efforts and facilitating collaboration rather than redundant work.

Enhance resource utilization
With clear visibility into all ongoing projects, teams can better allocate cloud resources, assigning them to where they are most needed rather than duplicating usage. This efficient distribution of computational tasks and storage needs helps in optimizing cloud spending.

Accelerate innovation
Discoverability allows members of the organization to build on each other's work more quickly. When a new model or a new system (like RAG) comes out, members can discover the newest and latest techniques and quickly build on them.

Lower cloud costs
Discoverability through teamspaces reduces cloud costs. As AI projects often require substantial computational power, duplicate efforts can lead to unnecessary cloud resource consumption. By ensuring that team members can discover and collaborate on existing projects, organizations can avoid the cost of running similar computations or storing redundant data across multiple cloud instances.
Consolidate data storage
When teams are aware of existing datasets, they can reuse and share data across projects instead of creating new copies of the same datasets. This consolidation significantly reduces the storage footprint and associated costs.

Avoid unnecessary spend
Finally, enhanced discoverability helps in identifying underutilized or idle cloud resources that can be reallocated or terminated. This proactive approach avoids the common pitfall of accruing expenses for resources that are no longer actively contributing to project development.

Enhancing discoverability within an organization through teamspaces directly contributes to lowering cloud costs. It promotes a culture where resources are judiciously used, and unnecessary expenditures are avoided, leading to more financially sustainable AI project development.
