Generally, the posters are static and if a participant wants to view something different like a notebook code, model demo, or a blog then the author would have to jump through multiple windows for a demonstration.<\/p>\n<p>Our Research Poster Template connects your research poster with a Jupyter notebook, blogpost, and research paper, and even has an interactive demo for people to play with the model all within the same app. This app also allows industry practitioners to easily reproduce the research. To build a poster researchers can install the template and customize based on their requirements.<\/p>\n<p>This Research poster template is built using <a href=\"https:\/\/lightning.ai\/lightning-docs\/levels\/intermediate\/level_8.html\"><u>Lightning Apps<\/u><\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/lightning.ai\/components\"><u>Components<\/u><\/a>. Lightning App is a framework to build any Machine Learning solution. This command will clone and install the research poster template in your current directory. This class provides arguments like a poster folder, paper link, blog, and launch a model demo. Let\u2019s briefly discuss the tabs and components available in this app.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Poster Component<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lightning-AI\/LAI-markdown-poster-Component\"><u>This component<\/u><\/a> lets you make research posters using markdown files. The component comes with a predefined <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lightning-AI\/LAI-research-template-App\/blob\/main\/app.py#L30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><code>poster.md<\/code><\/a>\u00a0file in the <code>resources<\/code> folder that contains markdown content for building the poster. You can directly update the existing file with your research content.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Paper and Training Logs<\/h3>\n<p>You can add your research paper, a blog post, and training logs to your app. These are usually static web links that can be directly passed as optional arguments within <code>app.py<\/code><\/p>\n<pre>paper = \"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/pdf\/2103.00020.pdf\"\r\nblog = \"https:\/\/openai.com\/blog\/clip\/\"\r\nlog_url = \"https:\/\/wandb.ai\/aniketmaurya\/herbarium-2022\/runs\/2dvwrme5\"\r\n\r\nResearchApp(\r\n    paper=paper,\r\n    blog=blog,\r\n    training_log_url=log_url\r\n  )\r\n<\/pre>\n<h3>3. A view only Jupyter Notebook<\/h3>\n<p>You can provide the path to your notebook and it will be converted into static HTML.<\/p>\n<p>To add the static notebook to your app, pass <code>notebook_path=\"NOTEBOOK_PATH.ipynb\"<\/code> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lightning-AI\/LAI-research-template-App\/blob\/main\/app.py#L30\"><code>ResearchApp<\/code><\/a> class within <code>app.py<\/code>.<\/p>\n<h3>4. JupyterLab Component<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lightning-AI\/LAI-research-template-App\/blob\/main\/research_app\/components\/jupyter_notebook.py\"><u>This component<\/u><\/a> runs and adds a JupyterLab instance to your app. You can provide a way to edit and run your code for quick audience demonstrations. However, note that sharing a JupyterLab instance can expose the cloud instance to security vulnerability. By default, the JupyterLab instance is disabled within <code>app.py<\/code>\u00a0to avoid this.<\/p>\n<pre>ResearchApp(launch_jupyter_lab=False)\r\n<\/pre>\n<h3>5. Model Demo<\/h3>\n<p>This app uses the Lightning <code><a href=\"https:\/\/lightning.ai\/lightning-docs\/workflows\/add_web_ui\/gradio\/basic.html?highlight=gradio%20serve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ServeGradio<\/a><\/code>\u00a0component to showcase an interactive model demo with Gradio. To create an interactive demo you\u2019d need to implement the <code>build_model<\/code> and <code>predict<\/code> methods of the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Lightning-AI\/LAI-research-poster-yolov5-App\/blob\/main\/research_app\/components\/model_demo.py#L27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><code>ModelDemo<\/code><\/a>\u00a0class present in the <code>research_app\/components\/model_demo.py<\/code> module.
